Financial Domain Names for Sale

During the last decade of writing financial software and selling it on the Internet, Wheatworks has accumulated a healthy portfolio of more than 90 domain names related to financial services. They’ve been sitting on the shelf, so to speak.

Today I read an article on CNN.com titled, “Hot property — Web domain names“. It reminded me of a recent article in Business 2.0 titled, “The man who owns the Internet“, about Kevin Ham.

Inspired by a market I didn’t realize existed, this evening I’ve taken Wheatworks’ domain names out of hiding and have created a list of the domains for sale with suggested prices. You can read the list of Financial Domains for Sale.

What’s on the list? They’re .COM names, no misspellings, some with associated .NET and .ORG domains, some with plurals. More than 90% are related to financial matters, from RefiCalc.com to CreditUnionCalculator.com to PrivacyBoss.com to EZCalcs.com and RECalculator.com. In short, it’s a nice portfolio of finance-related domain names. Check it out!

In the list are a few non-finance domains, too, like Toys4Gamers.com and GoodSEOTools.com.

How to Install Software on Vista

I’ve answered a few questions recently about installing Wheatworks’ financial calculators on Microsoft’s Vista operating system.

As a graphical “here’s how to do it”, I’ve added an How to Install Wheatworks’ Financial Calculators on Vista support page. The screen shots and step-by-step instructions clearly show the one extra step someone with a standard user account must do when installing software on Vista.

What’s that step? If you have a standard user account, you must right click the installation executable and choose the “Run As Administrator” menu item that appears. Standard User accounts require an Administrator password be provided to allow the installation. It’s a more secure operating system.

Choose Run As Administrator

Of course, if you have a user account with Administrator privileges, you install just as you always have and the one extra step is not required.
